A Longing

I long for my sister to be near. I find myself in need of her guidance and wisdom.

She is a wise woman!

I miss her hugs and her compliments. She has a way of knowing just what to say when I'm down or lost.

She prays for me, always has. She's about ten years ahead of me on her spiritual journey {this is, of course, my own perception, I'm sure she'd say differently}. God has blessed me with her in my search for discernment. Did I mention she's wise?!

As a Navy Wife, duty stations usually take us far from home and I spend an much of time missing my friends and family. Today, my sister is on my heart! And it is she I long to spend my day with.

I know, there isn't much to this writing, but this is what I need to get out there. It's been a while since I've written, blogged or otherwise, and these were the words I needed to say.

Creativity Boot Camp: Day Two (Picnic)

Life is not a picnic, but it should be.

A yellow and pink pastel blanket is laid out in the living room floor
Tupperware lids serve as plates
Magnetic letters from the refrigerator make up the meal
Two purple tea cups sit in the center next to a plastic pink tea pot
A 10 month old little girl sits chewing on plastic spoon slightly unaware

"Me and Sister are having a picnic"

And she gently pours her sister a cup of tea.

Ahhhhh, Vacation!

(This is the super condensed version of my January break as it's taking me several days to write and I really just want to get it posted already!)

I needed that!

6 full days with my fam in Oklahoma is just what the doctor ordered. It was supposed to be 7 but our lovely Chicago weather stayed true to form and the snow storm delayed us a day. So we ended up in Oklahoma on Friday early enough to help Mom set up for Granny's 80th Birthday Party!

The Party was a great success! Everything turned out great and most importantly, Granny had a wonderful time!!! I have so much more to say about the party but my brain is not working properly!

Had and AWESOME visit with my Sis! She is seriously, the coolest person!

The girls got to eat up crazy amounts of attention from everyone, especially Addison. She was such a big help. I think she should come live with me for a little while (probably after we transfer though) (no we don't know where we're going yet!). Or she and her Mommy could come hang with me some time this summer... I think that's a great idea if I may say so myself... You ever get the feeling you're just kind of rambling??

So, long story short, we had a great visit! I had a blast with my Mom and Sister and Granny (I have such an awesome family! I am so very blessed!!!)

Rave: Jenni!

I've been thinking a lot of my sister Jenni the past couple of days and I'm really trying hard to pray when I feel so moved, especially when someone random pops in my head. But after a few days of thinking of my sis, praying for her and missing each other on phone calls I thought I'd share with you just a little about Jenni!

To put it short and sweet, this is my current fb status:

I love my sister! She's one of my best friends, a role model and someone I strive to be more like. She has stood beside me in my quest for a relationship with Christ and has never faltered where I was concerned. I am blessed to call her my friend and not only my sister by birth but also my sister in Christ. I love you Jenni!!!

But I can't leave it that short but it is sweet.

Throughout all the trials and tribulations in my life my sister has been there, not usually physically but no more than a phone call away. From boot camp to the Middle East, through divorces and babies, I've ALWAYS felt her prayers. And when I thought she was pushing too hard and told her to back off, I know she never gave up on me. I could feel her concern for me, I could hear it in her voice, but she did not waiver!

I want to write so much more but the words escape me. I know not God's plan for me or why He puts certain people in my life but I am so very thankful He gave me Jenni.
