Life Among Boxes

We are moving pros, at least I thought we were.

This is our 5th house move together and we have a great system that works wonders, when it's implemented properly. We have great teamwork, tag teaming each room and knocking out boxes like it's nobody's business.

But not this time. Not this move.

We have not used teamwork.

We divided and were conquered.

So now I sit, almost a week into living among boxes, wondering how to make a house out of this mess! Tomorrow I will resume being a stay at home mom with my Love at work, attempt to entertain the girls who are becoming increasing tired of being cooped up, unpack, and make this house a home.

This move has truly taught me what not to do! Which, I know, is just as valuable.

  1. It's a lot different moving with kids. I've just learned to unpack the important stuff first, other stuff just isn't that important to stress out about. Make a small goal of unpacking 1 box before naptime and 1 after. It seems small, but little by little you'll see the boxes disappear:)

  2. I, too, learned that moving with 2 children is very difficult. Our last move, we only had a little 6 month old who basically eat, slept and pooped. Now I have 2 troublemakers who got very bored hearing Mommy say "I need to get some stuff unpacked"
I learned that it takes time but before you know it, your tornado will look like a home. Take it one step at a will get there!!!

  3. Oh, I don't envy your job right now of unpacking. But there is something to be said for the excitement that entails making a house a home. It's fun to decorate and make new beautiful spots as the backdrop for new memories. I miss you. I'm praying for you. And I cannot wait to read your Bigger Picture Moment ... even if you don't get around to writing it for another few months. I totally understand. :) Love you!

  4. I'm sorry Rose! Hopefully you will be settled in soon! Good luck!

I'd love to know what you think.
